Lucio A. Cardoso, Jr., DDS, MD

A New Jersey native, Dr. Cardoso grew up in the Ironbound section of Newark.  He excelled as a scholar athlete at Seton Hall Preparatory School and continued playing baseball into college. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Rutgers University in 2005. He then further enriched his academic interests in Biological Sciences and received a Master of Science from Montclair State University before deciding to pursue a career in dentistry.  He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry in 2012, graduating in the top 15% of his class.

Dr. Cardoso completed his post doctoral training in a six year dual-degree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program at New York University-Langone Medical Center, which included affiliations with Bellevue Hospital Center, Manhattan Veterans Affairs Hospital and Lenox Hill Hospital.  While in residency, he obtained his Medical Degree from New York University School of Medicine in 2016.  He then completed a one year surgical internship where he was further exposed to the various domains of general surgery, including the surgical intensive care unit, oncologic, bariatric, vascular, cardiothoracic and plastic surgery, as well as internal and emergency medicine.  

In his private practice, Dr. Cardoso performs all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has received extensive training in adult and pediatric anesthesia, dental implantology, bone grafting, dentoalveolar surgery, maxillofacial trauma, head and neck pathology, and virtual surgically guided reconstruction of the jaw and face. He also has a particular interest in facial cosmetic surgery and comprehensive facial rejuvenation.

A recent graduate, he is currently Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery board eligible.

When not in the office, Dr. Cardoso continues to remain physically active, especially outdoors.  He enjoys all things boating and fishing, cooking, photography, and horticulture as well as traveling and spending time with his wife and family.
