Background Information
Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires an additional 4-6 years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. Dr. Rutner also has an MD degree. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Rutner manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. Dr. Rutner practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal, TMJ surgery, corrective jaw orthognathic surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, facial trauma repair, removal of oral and facial tumors, to the repair of cleft palate. They perform techniques designed to rebuild and reconstruct bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Our office can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.
Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery. Our office is also inspected and certified by the state of New Jersey to perform outpatient general anesthesia and IV sedation.
Surgical Staff
The surgical staff at Center for Oral & Facial Surgery are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants, who assist in the administration of IV sedation and surgery. All staff are informed administrative personnel, well versed in health and insurance policies, and are CPR certified. The doctors are also trained and certified in ACLS (advanced cardiac life support) for the safety and comfort of our patients under general anesthesia.
